Initiative
The SEMI Smart Manufacturing Initiative is a global
collaboration that accelerates the adoption of
Industry 4.0 technologies across the microelectronics
supply chain. By reducing barriers to deployment and
fostering knowledge-sharing, the initiative helps manufacturers unlock business value, improve efficiency,
and shorten the path to return on investment.
The European Chapter
As part of this worldwide effort, the European
Chapter of the Smart Manufacturing Community
focuses on the unique opportunities and challenges
within Europe’s semiconductor ecosystem. Working in
alignment with the global initiative, the chapter
connects regional expertise, industry leaders, and
innovators to advance smart manufacturing practic
es that strengthen Europe’s competitiveness on the
global stage.

integrated factory ecosystem across the European
semiconductor value chain - supporting a resilient
and competitive Europe in the global

To bring together industry experts, innovators, and
thought leaders across Europe, fostering
collaboration that drives the development and
adoption of advanced smart manufacturing
solutions and standards. By building best practices
that span from front-end to back-end semiconductor
production, the chapter empowers Europe’s
